Art and craft

I am a working artist with private or group classes. I can create a class of your choice for you or your group. Whether you would like a private class or would like to gather 4+ friends to create a class at your own location (local to Tamarindo area only), workshops are tailor made to whatever you would like to paint or create.

I offer private events, birthday parties, art & wine events. My workshops include a choice of painting in acrylics on canvas or watercolor on paper, mixed media, drawing, crafts, painted leather and vegan leather feather earrings, etc. You are welcome to ask me about custom workshops if you have ideas you would like to realize.

For adults and kids

You are welcome to ask me about custom workshops if you have ideas you would like to realize. If you would like to schedule a group class, one art medium is recommended so that everyone gets equal attention and takes a piece of art home.

For example, previous classes have been where one or two of my paintings are chosen to emulate and I teach alongside you, we paint my art together with me leading and giving one on one instruction. You may also send me artworks, photographs or ideas beforehand (if other than my personal paintings) and I can prepare how to create them. Private classes can be anything you like as it is personal.

What is included?

For an acrylic workshop:

  • All materials including one canvas (8x8 inch, 8x10 inch, 9x12 inch or 10x14 inch please indicate which size preference, larger sizes and more complicated art ideas can be arranged as a multiple package)
  • the use of paints, brushes, pencils, tuition,
  • you will take the painting home.

For a watercolour on paper workshop:

  • All materials including watercolour paints, brushes, pencils, tuition,
  • You will take the painting home.

For all other workshops:

  • all relevant materials including craft supplies, leather, jewellery findings, beads, wooden craft items for painting etc, tuition.

Prices

  • Individual lesson 2- 2.5 hours

  • $95 one person

  • 2 or more people 2-2.5 hours 

  • $80 per person

  • Children class under 7yo (1-1.5h, 2 children min.)

  • $60 per child

  • Package of 4 private lessons

  • $340 (usually $380)

    This painting experience with Lydia was fabulous! I love my painting! I learned quite a bit during the class. This was my 2nd time painting in a guided class. My first experience was in a group class it was a bit overwhelming as my first experience with brush to canvas. I thoroughly enjoyed the one on one class with Lydia, as she was patient while teaching a newbie how to put brush to canvas! Her clothes & jewelry are out of this world as they are fun, unique, & one of a kind! I can’t wait to return for my Peacock Feather necklace!

  • Art shop in Tamarindo

    I highly recommend stopping by Lydia Beech Art store. We were going to Tamarindo to do some shopping. I found this store on trip advisor and immediately emailed Lydia. I asked if she would be able to give my 6 year an art lesson that day. She emailed me back within the hour and said absolutely! We went by and introduced my daughter and Lydia made her feel so comfortable. She taught her the different techniques of the brush strokes and many more artistic techniques. She was so patient and encouraging to my daughter. Not only is Lydia a talented artist but a wonderful instructor. This made my 6year old's day. She is so proud of her painting. Thank you, Lydia!

    Lydia is so talented and such a sweet person! Her shop is charming and colorful like her art.

    She makes beautiful clothes and jewelry and paintings and my kids LOVED making jewelry and learning to paint with her.

    I adore the hand-painted, one of a kind items my kids and I got from her. I plan to have her create one-of-a-kind paintings of my pets as well!

    Cannot recommend her highly enough to anyone looking for beautiful items and a friendly face.
